Fireplaces Plus marks 35 years in Bettendorf with expanded displays, expert service

BETTENDORF, Iowa (KWQC) – Fireplaces Plus, a longtime Quad Cities hearth retailer, is highlighting its decades of experience, expansive showroom and energy-efficient product lines in a new on-location segment filmed at its Bettendorf storefront.

Owner Keith Beyhl says the business, founded in February 1989, has grown into the largest hearth retail store in Eastern Iowa and Western Illinois.

The business offers more than 60 fireplace displays and stocking over 100 gas, wood and electric stoves inside its 12,000-square-foot showroom at 1745 State Street.

The company’s seven full-time employees bring more than 150 years of combined industry experience, with the team completing over 30,000 installations since opening.

Beyhl said that expertise is central to the store’s reputation for detailed consultation, quick response times and helping customers choose the right unit for their home.

Fireplaces Plus carries more than 15 top brands, including Kozy Heat, Mendota, Pacific Energy, Regency and HearthStone. The newer models, Beyhl noted, are significantly more energy-efficient and aesthetically advanced compared to older units — a timely benefit as utility costs are projected to rise this fall.

The business is encouraging customers to visit in August, ahead of the typical September rush for stoves and fireplaces.

To coincide with Beyhl’s 70th birthday on Aug. 16, Fireplaces Plus will offer special pricing throughout the month, giving customers an opportunity to save before demand increases.

Fireplaces Plus serves customers within a 75-mile radius of its Bettendorf location.
